Rich Embeds on Your Bio

Learn which platforms you can embed on your bio, how to add and reorder embed blocks, and how rich embeds differ from Smart Sites on external websites.

Rich embeds let visitors watch, listen, or browse media directly on your Linkssi bio page without leaving for another app. A restaurant can embed a menu video; a musician can stream Spotify; a creator can showcase TikTok or Instagram content inline.

This feature is available on every plan, including Free, with no embed count cap. It is distinct from Smart Sites, which places Linkssi forms and booking widgets on external websites — not media players.

How it works

In the Bio builder, add an Embed block and paste a supported URL. Linkssi renders a native player or preview card optimised for mobile. Supported platforms include YouTube, Spotify, TikTok, Instagram, Vimeo, and similar oEmbed providers.

Embeds sit alongside links and other blocks. Reorder them like any block — many brands place one hero embed under the profile, then links below.

Setup steps

  1. Open Dashboard → Bio and select your page.
  2. Click Add blockEmbed (or equivalent in the block picker).
  3. Paste the full URL — e.g. a YouTube watch link or Spotify track/album URL.
  4. Save and preview on mobile — players should load without horizontal scroll.
  5. Repeat; embeds are unlimited on all plans.

Plan requirements

Free, Starter, Pro, and Premium all include unlimited rich embeds. No upgrade is required to add media blocks. Custom domain and hide branding are separate Starter+ benefits — see Custom Domains and Hide Linkssi Branding.

Best practices

Lead with one embed that tells your story in under 60 seconds, then drive action with a link or form block. Avoid stacking five auto-playing videos — mobile data and attention are limited.

Tip: Pair a Spotify embed with a "Book a table" or "Enquire" link so listening converts to action.

Keep embed URLs canonical (official platform links). Deleted or private source content will break the block silently — check quarterly.

Performance on mobile

Embeds load third-party iframes — keep total embed count reasonable on slow networks. One hero video plus Spotify is fine; six HD players is not. Test on 4G, not just office Wi-Fi.

Content strategy by vertical

Musicians: latest release embed + tour dates link. Restaurants: ambiance video + menu PDF link. Coaches: testimonial clip + book CTA. Match embed to the one story that converts.

Troubleshooting embed issues

If an embed shows blank or broken:

  1. Confirm the source URL is public — private or deleted content breaks oEmbed.
  2. Use the platform's standard share URL, not a redirect or short link.
  3. Remove and re-add the block after correcting the URL.
  4. Check on a real phone — some desktop-only previews hide mobile layout issues.

Common mistakes

Expecting Smart Sites to embed YouTube on a WordPress page — Smart Sites is for Linkssi conversion tooling, not media mirroring. Pasting shortened or redirect URLs that oEmbed cannot resolve — use the platform's standard share link. Hiding all text CTAs behind embeds alone — always give a clear next step.
